DANIEL’S REPLY
1. Remembering the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Daniel 5:18-21
a) The Most High God
b) He gave to Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian Kingdom
c) But Nebuchadnezzar’s heart became hardened with pride
d) He was struck with an illness that drove him from the throne
e) He was restored only after he acknowledged God
2. Admonishing King Belshazzar Daniel 5:22-28
a) He knew the history of Nebuchadnezzar
b) He had chosen the path of pride
c) He had desecrated the holy artefacts of the Temple of God
d) The message on the wall “Mene, Mene, Tekel Upharsin” (Chaldee)
i) Mene- God has numbered and finished the kingdom

iii) Upharsin- (The plural of Peres)- Divided
