THE WARS THAT DAVID HAD TO WAGE

1. To defend the nation of Israel

2. To establish the sovereignty of Israel

3. To protect the interests of the nation

4. To establish justice and security

THE LORD’S HAND OF INVOLVEMENT

1. This has to be sought

2. This has to be sought in prayer

a) In humility
b) In faith
c) For strength
d) For victory

THE LORD’S ENABLING ACKNOWLEDGED

1. Enemies

a) Pursued
b) Overtaken
c) Till they were destroyed   (Psalm 18:37-38, 41-42)

2. Acknowledgment

a) The strength of the Lord   (Psalm 18:39)
b) The Lord in giving the enemies over   (Psalm 18:40)
c) Deliverance from strivings of the people   (Psalm 18:43)
d) Made head of the nation   (Psalm 18:43)
e) Foreigners submitted themselves to David   (Psalm 18:45)

OFFERING PRAISE TO THE LORD

1. Appropriate to give praise to the Lord   (Psalm 18:46)

a) Blessing the Lord
b) Exalting the Lord
c) Giving thanks to God   (Psalm 18:49)
d) Offering praise   (Psalm 18:40)

2. God’s Involvement Reviewed and Appreciated

a) He is the One who avenges   (Psalm 18:47)
b) He subdues all enemies   (Psalm 18:47)
c) He delivers from enemies   (Psalm 18:48)
d) He is the One who lifts up   (Psalm 18:48)
e) He has shown mercy
i) To David as the king   (Psalm 18:50)
ii) To his descendants   (Psalm 18:50)
