MY NAME IS LEGION
I dabbled with sin and did not comprehend the danger I was in,
One sin led to another and soon demons came and dwelt within.
The changes that took place were so subtle I did not notice them,
Soon it was too late to repel the demons, my life was all mayhem!
The people of Gadara did not know what to do with me,
Their doctors could not help me, none could set me free.
I became worse and worse with each passing day,
I was unfit to live with people, and I was filled with dismay.
Anger sometimes filled my heart and that fueled my strength,
I was a danger to all who were at arm’s length.
The Gadarenes used chains to control my might,
They kept a close look out for me, keeping me out of sight.
But there was a struggle deep within my soul,
There was a part of me that the demons could not control.
My heart longed to be free from the power of sin,
In my sane moments, I cried out to God for cleansing deep within.
God must have heard my prayer when one day Jesus came to Gadara for ministry,
He was sent to me to deliver me from the Legion of demons who possessed me.
The demons were frightened of the Mighty Son of God,
They fled when they heard the voice of Jesus who is truly Lord.
What a relief, what a thrill to be freed from demonic power!
What power Jesus possessed when with a word I was delivered that very hour!
My heart, my mind and my life now belong to the Lord Jesus alone,
I will ever seek to serve Him and testify of the power of His throne!
Inspiration: Mark 5:1-20

IF ONLY I MAY TOUCH HIS CLOTHES
A chronic medical problem can indeed cause great distress,
An unnamed woman spent all she had in hope of finding rest.
She sought medical help but to little avail,
Her problem of an issue of blood still prevailed.
She had heard of a man called Jesus of Nazareth,
He had healed people who had illnesses from birth!
But how could she reach Jesus to ask for His grace,
It was almost impossible to see Him face to face.
“If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well,”
This hope began to battle dark thoughts that came from hell.
She inched her way to where Jesus was walking with a ruler of the synagogue,
She knew that she would never have the privilege to have with Jesus a dialogue.
She drew near enough to touch the garments of the Lord,
Instantly she felt that she was cured- what grace from God!
Then she shivered in fear as Jesus spoke to the crowd,
“Who touched My clothes?”- He uttered these words out loud.
She came to Jesus to confess in fear and trepidation,
Jesus looked at her with tender love, not consternation.
“Daughter, your faith has made you well…” These words were gently said,
“Go in peace…” These precious words made her feel loved and unafraid.
Inspiration: Mark 5:34
