THE PROMISE OF BLESSING
Genesis 9:1-3

1. Fruitfulness is a blessing from God Genesis 9:1, 7

2. A special sense of fear

a) It will be imbued in all animals Genesis 9:2

ii) Every bird
iii) All the fish of the sea

1. Not to eat flesh with the blood

2. Not to murder Man

THE CONCEPT OF A DIVINE COVENANT

1. General Understanding of a “covenant”

a) Parity covenant
i) Between two equals
ii) It is a treaty/ an agreement/ a contract
b) Divine- Suzerainty covenant
i) Between two unequal partners
ii) Between God and Man
iii) A perpetual covenant

2. The Covenant given and explained

a) To Noah

3. The Covenant established

a) “I will establish My covenant with you” Genesis 9:9a
b) “And with your descendants” Genesis 9:9b
c) “And with every living creature that is with you” Genesis 9:10
d) “Never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth” Genesis 9:11

4. The sign of the Covenant
