A Prayer For Further Oneness

Thank God for the oneness in the YAG
Last Sunday’s Morning Worship was indeed a special moment for us as a YAG. We were given the awesome privilege of chairing the worship service. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to speak of the YAG ministry and our understanding of oneness as a group. Much preparation was poured into each aspect of the service. Those who were chairing worked on what they were going to share. All of us practised hard for the song item until we were ready to present it. Truly, we thank God for blessing each part of the Morning Service. We were able to serve together as one and to honor the Lord with song and praise. How should we see our oneness as a group as we ministered together?
- All about being there
Oneness is about “being there”. It is about showing up when we are needed. I thank God for all who sought to be there…to show up with a sense of affinity with each other. We were there to represent the YAG brethren. Even those who were not there physically for one reason or another communicated that they were praying alongside. They were being there in spirit. This is the kind of oneness that we want to continue to cultivate…to be there.
- Seeking to do our part
Not only were we there but we also sought to do our part. Some led in worship. Some sang for the song item which was nicely done. We all sought to do our part. Each part is vital to the body of Christ. It is so wonderful to find our place in the YAG…in the church.
- Working together as one
Many of you related to me that it was indeed a joy working together as YAG. It was not about any one individual’s work. It was a collective whole …that by working together as a team…as the body of Christ, we were cultivating a greater sense of oneness. We thank God that we are learning to be one as a YAG.
Prayer for further oneness
The oneness that we have experienced is really a work in progress. There is so much more for us to learn. I echo the prayer for Paul for the Roman brethren to be one.
- I pray for God to grant us greater oneness
“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you” (Rom 15:5)
Through His patience and comfort, my prayer is for God to give to us a greater sense of oneness. I acknowledge that God is the source of our oneness.
- For a similar mindset with each other and with Christ
“To be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,” (Rom 15:5)
My prayer is that we will forge more like-mindedness with each other…which is patterned after the mindset of Christ.
- For oneness in given glory to our God and Father
“That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom 15:6)
Let us with oneness in our thinking and voice…offer praise to give glory to God. God truly deserves all the glory. For blessing us in our leading of worship, He deserves all the glory. Let us continue to pray for the cultivation of our oneness and to give glory to God.
