The pursuit of Paul to be identified with Christ
1. Pursuing a deeper knowledge of Christ
a. Paul was seeking to understand Christ more deeply
b. His identification with Christ would take him to a level of depth that he never understood before
2. The power of His resurrection
a. Paul’s desire was to identify with the power of God more significantly
b. This was the power that was used in the resurrection of Christ
c. He was seeking to experience this power that only God could give
3. The fellowship of His sufferings
a. Paul was identifying with Christ’s suffering at a deeper level
b. It was fellowshipping in the possible greater pain and suffering of Christ
c. The Lord Jesus went through much suffering
d. Paul sought to be identify with His suffering deeply
4. Conforming to His death
a. Paul was identifying with the death of Christ
b. He was willing to go to the point of death for Christ
