Kept By Grace
On Easter Sunday, I experienced one of the most traumatic nights of my life.
While going down a flight of steps on my way home, I lost my footing and tumbled down. When I reached the landing, my head was spinning and I could feel the beginnings of a huge bump at the back of my head. Thankfully, a neighbour spotted me and called my parents who then rushed me to the hospital.
After numerous checks, the doctors declared that I did not have any fractures or any internal head damage. The huge bump at the back of my head would subside in a few months, as would the bruises.
Throughout the ordeal, I found that there was so much to be thankful for. That even though I was clumsy, the Lord still specially watched over me and protected me. I was reminded very much of Psalm 91: 11
“For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”
One of the ways that God shows His love for us is by sending His angels to watch over us, to keep us in all our ways, even in little things like navigating stairs. Even though this momentous event occurred late at night, I am glad that I was still specially protected and kept.
Looking back now, I know how serious the situation could have been and each day, I am thankful that I have been kept by grace.
