Text: Daniel 12:1-13
Dear Young People,
COMPLETION OF A BRIEF STUDY OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL
We have come to the end of our brief study of the Book of Daniel. What lessons did you learn from your study of this prophetic book?
TAKE TIME TO REVIEW THE BOOK OF DANIEL
To truly benefit from the study of a Book such as Daniel, you would have to take time to review the Book. You may do this in a number of ways:-
1. Review the life of Daniel
a) Ponder over his faithfulness
b) Be challenged by his commitment to be true to God
c) Be deeply impressed by his prayer-life
d) Be impacted by his depth of knowledge of God
2. Review the Prophetic Passages
a) This is more difficult
b) However, with patient reviewing, you could have a pretty good grasp of the doctrine commonly called “Eschatology” by theologians. (This word, “Eschatology” simply means “The Study of the Last Things”).
GOD’S FINAL WORD OF BLESSING TO DANIEL
God was greatly pleased with Daniel. He was indeed a special servant of God. His love for the Lord and His Word was exceptional. God’s final word to him was this.
“But you, go your way till the end;
For you shall rest, and will arise
To your inheritance at the end of the days.”
Daniel 12:13
God told Daniel that he was to return to his duties. In due time he would “rest”. This was a euphemism. It was a reference to his death. However, Daniel may take comfort in this promise of God. He would arise from the dead, and he would obtain his “inheritance at the end of the days”. What wonderful words of assurance God gave to Daniel!
JESUS’ WORD OF ASSURANCE
Could we have a similar sense of assurance when we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? YES! We have this wonderful word of comfort from the Gospel of John.
“Most assuredly, I say to you,
He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me
Has everlasting life, and shall not come to judgment,
But has passed from death to life.” John 5:24
