Every Encouragement To Give Praise To The Lord

I am excited about 2019. As a Church, we are going to begin the year seeking to focus on giving praise and glory to our God. We have every encouragement to come before the Lord and to sing praises to Him.
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our Salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us should joyfully to Him with psalms.” Psalm 95:1-3
The Psalmist made a call to the people to give praise to the Lord. He mentioned four times the phrase “Let us”. There was a strong sense of identification with the people even as he made this call to sing to Him. We have God who is truly worthy of our praise. Our focus should be on the greatness of God. He is indeed a great God. How can we appreciate His greatness?
1. He is our Rock of salvation who has helped and saved us (Psalm 95:1)
2. He is a great King who is sovereign over all things in our life (Psalm 95:3)
3. He is our Maker and Sustainer of all things (Psalm 95:3-4)
4. He is our Shepherd who leads and provides for us (Psalm 95:7)
As we appreciate the greatness of God, how should we come before Him in worship?
1. With a heart of great joy (Psalm 95:1-2)
Let’s joyfully sing to the Lord as we enter His presence
2. With a heart of humility (Psalm 95:6)
As we appreciate His greatness, let’s humble ourselves before. Let’s worship Him with deep reverence and awe.
3. With a heart ready to listen to His voice through His word (Psalm 95:7-8)
Let’s not be rebellious against the word of the Lord. Let’s seek to have a ready heart to listen to His word as we begin 2019.
