For Unto Us A Child Is Born

THE PROPHECY OF THE FIRST COMING OF THE LORD JESUS – FULFILLED
“Come, thou long-expected Jesus born to set thy people free…”. These were the first words sung at our recent Christmas concerts. They were words of great expectancy concerning the coming Messiah and Saviour. And there was tremendous effect as the young ladies brought in the lit lamps that represented the ever-glowing light that enlightened the darkness on earth through the prophetic word. As I sat in the audience, I was reminded of the prophecy from Isa. 9:6.
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders and His name would be called wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of peace.” Isa. 9:6
This was the prophetic word concerning the first coming of the Lord Jesus to be born as a baby boy. And He would be a King who would minister to His people according to the many titles given. He would be called “Wonderful.” He would share deep and insightful counsel from His word. He would show great power and might through His signs. He would be a Father to His disciples. He would be one who is a bringer of peace. The Lord Jesus will be all these things and more. This prophetic word has already been fulfilled.
THE PROPHECY OF THE SECOND COMING OF THE LORD – HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
Of the increase of His government and peace, there is no end. Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and justice, from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isa. 9:7
When the Lord Jesus comes again the second time, He will no longer come as a baby. He will come as a victorious King. He will establish His millennial kingdom on this earth. His kingdom on earth will be an everlasting kingdom and there will be no end. His reign will increase throughout all the land until He brings peace to the whole world. All on this earth will bow before the Lord Jesus. He will establish it with righteous judgment and justice as only the Lord Jesus can. It will be a glorious kingdom. Because this prophecy is from Him, the zeal of the Lord will perform it. It can be considered as good as done. Let’s exercise greater faith in the Lord’s prophecy that He will come again. As we end the year and look forward to the new year, let’s seek to anticipate the Lord’s second coming. He may come in 2018. Let’s take heed to His word and exercise even greater hope in His prophetic word. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will indeed perform it.
