Pine Trees

It was a delight to behold this picturesque scene of luscious pine trees. As they line the sides of the river, their stately form represent trees that have been sufficiently nourished and strengthened. They obviously draw much sustenance from the blazing sun and the meandering river that flows through the Yosemite valley. According to Buzzle.com, the pine tree can grow in any soil and anywhere in the world. It is the only species of trees that reproduce from seeds in the cone. Of the seven continents, pine trees are found in six continents and require full sun and very little water to survive. They are indeed trees that exude strength, adaptability and survivability.
“HE SHALL BE LIKE A TREE…”
This picture reminds me very much of Psalm 1, where the righteous man was likened to a strong and healthy tree.
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper.”
– Psalm 1:3
The one who seeks to delight in God’s word and chooses not to keep company with the ungodly will be blessed by the Lord. He would be like a tree that is specially nourished by rivers of water. This tree would still be strong and flourishing during times of drought because of its deep roots. When we have deep roots in the word of God and seek to practise it, He would prosper the works of our hands. Whatever we do in life and ministry, the Lord would establish them. We would see our life and ministry bearing much fruit. Let’s choose to be like this “tree” that is strong, flourishing and adaptable to the challenges of life. May we always endeavor to meditate and love His word. Let’s determine to walk righteously at all times.
