The Earth is the Lord’s and its Fullness

The earth is part of the Lord’s kingdom. From the great oceans to the great mountains, all of them belong to the Lord. This was a picture taken at Glacier point, Yosemite Park, USA at 7,214 ft. It is part of the Sierra Nevada range which constitutes 102,594 square Km. It was a special moment to take in as I beheld the far extents of the horizon on the range. I was deeply humbled by the thought that the Lord created all of these, including the two tourists in the picture. He is both Creator and King over all the world and its inhabitants. His presence is everywhere.
The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters,” Psalm 24:1-2
The Lord’s glory can be seen in all of creation. When the Lord first created the earth, it was covered with water (Gen 1:6-7). Then the Lord brought up the land and founded it on the water. We give glory to the Lord who has made all things. Truly, the Lord is omnipresent.
WHO MAY ASCEND INTO THE HILL OF GOD?
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3-4
Even though the Lord is omnipresent, it does not mean that anyone can just easily draw near to Him. The person who seeks Him should do so with clean and righteous lives. Because the Lord is glorious and holy in nature, and mankind is sinful before Him, finding closeness with God is no easy endeavour. The person who draws near to Him sets his life aright. He seeks to have a clean heart that results in clean deeds. He will not allow his hand to be corrupt neither will he be guilty of great sinful deeds. There will be sincerity of heart and intentions in all that he would do. He will also choose to not go after idols, to pray and worship them with his soul. Whenever he makes an oath to God, he will earnestly keep it.
When we come before the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart, He will draw near to us. When we walk uprightly, His blessing and His righteousness would be upon us (Psalm 24:6). May this generation seek the Lord and His face for 2016 with clean hands and a pure heart (Psalm 24:6).
