The Lord By Wisdom Founded the Earth

This is a picture I took on my flight to Kota Kinabalu about two years ago. Its shows the glory of the Lord with regards to how He created the sky, the sea and the clouds that brings down the rain on the earth. If you look carefully in the photo, there is a part of the cumulonimbus (Thunderstorm cloud) that is raining. How the Lord pieced everything together in creation is truly amazing.
“The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; by His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.” Proverbs 3:19-20
There are three things that the Lord employed to create everything. Firstly, the Lord by means of wisdom and skill created the earth and everything on it. All that God created was founded on wisdom. Secondly, He used understanding to hang all the planets and stars in the heavenly skies. There was the usage of discernment to establish the universe. How He was able to make each planet and star differently is due to His great omniscience. Thirdly, he employed depth of knowledge to create the huge aquifers in the earth which were broken up during the great flood (Gen. 7:11). He also made the clouds to rain for 40 days and nights. By the mere fact that the universe and earth continue to remain and stand firm as it is today is a testimony of the great wisdom and omniscience of God in creation.
KEEP SOUND WISDOM AND DISCRETION…YOUR FOOT WILL NOT STUMBLE
“My son let them not depart from your eyes – keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will bring life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way and your foot will not stumble.” Proverbs 3:21-23
Our challenge today is also to seek wisdom, understanding and knowledge from God and His word. We are to keep sound wisdom and discretion from the Scriptures because they are inextricably needed in building a strong foundation for our life and ministry. The wisdom from the Lord’s word is going to help us find life both physically and spiritually. In practical terms, we would learn to be gracious in all that we do. As God had established the universe years ago and it continues to stand firm, even so wisdom will help us to be steadfast in life and we will not stumble, We will not be afraid when we sleep at night because the Lord is our confidence. He will establish us and the work of our hands. Let’s truly seek to keep sound wisdom and discretion.
