APPRECIATING GOD’S GRACE IN OUR SALVATION

One thing that we can look forward to at Youth Conference 2019 is appreciating our salvation much more. The Lord God had given us such a profound concept of salvation that even after many years, we can still discover more about it. One key idea that Paul brought across in his epistles about salvation is the grace of God. The apostle Paul wrote of how the grace of God is something that we can deeply appreciate.

“For by grace you have been saved”
Ephesians 2:8

There was a point of time when we were dead in sin. We were totally unresponsive to any spiritual stimulus (Ephesians 2:1). The conjunction “for” is meant to infer that it is because of the grace of God that we are saved. If it were not for the grace of God, we would still be in spiritual deadness. When we appreciate this deeply, it should have a profound effect on us. There should be a continuing effect on our lives.

BRINGING ABOUT THE RESULTS OF SALVATION

“For by grace, you have been saved through faith …”
Ephesians 2:8

1. GOD’S PART

It is by means of the grace of God that we obtain the results of salvation.

a. By grace, we have been made accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6).

b. According to the riches of His grace, there is the forgiveness of sin (Ephesians 1:7).

c. It is by grace that we have been raised up and seated in the heavenly places with Christ (Ephesians 2:6).

It is only by His abundant grace that we are redeemed at all.

2. OUR PART

The mode by which we are saved is through faith. This is the expected part. It is our response as we understand and embrace the Lord’s salvation. There must be the exercising of our faith in Him. When we trust in the word of truth and believe in the Lord, we will be saved (Ephesians 1:13). It would bring about the results of salvation.

SALVATION, A WONDERFUL GIFT OF GRACE FROM GOD

“… And that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God”
Ephesians 2:8

1. SALVATION CANNOT BE EARNED THROUGH WORKS

Salvation does not come out of any merit of our own. We cannot earn our salvation.

2. SALVATION IS GIFT FROM GOD

It is purely a gift of grace from God. It is something that we must personally receive through faith.

PERSONAL APPLICATION

1. Let’s seek to appreciate our salvation even more.

2. Let’s learn to speak of our salvation.
