God and the Utilising of Wisdom in His Works

GOD EMPLOYING WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, AND KNOWLEDGE IN CREATION

God’s utilisation of wisdom as He created the expanse of the universe is truly amazing. There is no other being like Him in all that He had fashioned and formed at the beginning of time. Before the worlds were created, wisdom was already with Him. The Lord God perfectly employed wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in His glorious works of creation.

1. THE CREATION OF THE EARTH

“The Lord by wisdom founded the earth …”
Proverbs 3:19

The Lord did not just create the earth. With the utilization of wisdom, He ensured that there is a strong foundation for the earth. It can stand and turn on its own axis in the universe. The Lord God set in motion seasons and time. He provided water and food for all mankind and for all animals. Human beings go out to work in the daytime and wild nocturnal animals come out at night to hunt. God in His great wisdom set up the foundations of the world that continue to exist today.

2. THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE

“… By understanding He established the heavens”
Proverbs 3:19

With divine understanding, the constellations in the heavens were also established by Him. All the mega trillions of stars and planets in the universe have been precisely placed in their astronomical positions by God. There are about 400 billion plants and stars within our Milky Way galaxy alone. They symphonically exist and wonderfully do not collide with each other in space. With grand design and exactitude in all, the Divine Architect had created the heavens. He produced, with the employment of tremendous understanding, the cosmos that would last out for all time.

3. THE CREATION OF THE OCEANS AND RAINCLOUDS

“By His knowledge, the depths were broken up,
And clouds drop down the dew.”
Proverbs 3:20

The Lord with profound knowledge also created the oceans and the rain clouds. The depths were most probably a reference to the waters of the earth being divided into the various oceans. Today, there are the Pacific ocean, the Indian ocean, the Atlantic ocean, and others. It is also with this great knowledge of God that the clouds would drop their “dew”. Droplets of rain would also fall to the ground from rainclouds. How they fall and when they fall were all specially thought through by the Lord. There was the employment of knowledge and wisdom to create the great depths of the oceans and the smallest droplets of dew.

THE ENCOURAGEMENT TO OBTAIN WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, AND KNOWLEDGE

When God does a work, He employs wisdom that it may stand the test of time. We have every encouragement to obtain and employ wisdom, understanding, and knowledge in all that we do in life. We too need them in order to build our lives well. Our challenge is to wisely establish our lives with a strong foundation of His word. It takes sound wisdom, practical understanding, and depth of knowledge to build up important things in life like our faith and our character and to establish them. Let’s seek wisdom, keep growing in our understanding and increase our knowledge that we may learn to be strong as we face the challenges of life. Let’s pray to God for His grace that our lives can be built up well.
