PRAYING FOR THE YPG II, III AND SSS I OUTREACH PROGRAMME

“Why We Believe!”

This is the theme that pastor will be speaking on at our outreach programme. He is going to talk about the problem of people struggling with belief today and how they can come to faith in God. Often, non-Christians find it so hard to believe in a divine being because they cannot see beyond this tangible world to the intangible spiritual realm. If you have friends who are struggling with believing in God, let’s invite them for this special outreach programme. It will be a time for people to consider how they can find faith in this cynical world today.

An Exhortation To Pray

Since it is not easy for people to find faith, so much more do we need to pray for them. Let’s consider Paul’s exhortation for all to pray.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men” 
1 Timothy 2:1

The word “exhort” means to “beseech”. Paul was entreating Christians to get down to praying for all men, including non-Christians. Paul saw the priority of praying for people as he ministered and bore witness to others. It is the Lord who must shine the light of the gospel in peoples’ hearts. Young people, let’s supplicate for friends who are non-Christians. Let’s pray that non-believers will come for this meeting. Let’s earnestly intercede for their salvation.

God Desires All Men To Be Saved

“Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 
1 Timothy 2:4

What must drive us to pray for non-believers? It is God’s wish that all men will come to the knowledge of the truth. God does not desire that any should perish. His salvation is not just meant for the elect. It is meant for the whole world. His desire is for all men to come to believe in the Lord Jesus. Let’s be driven to pray with this in mind.

Let’s Pray For This Outreach Programme

Let’s pray for the following things:

1. Let’s pray that new people will come and see the light.
2. Let’s pray for those who are leading in worship and sharing their testimonies.
3. Let’s specially pray for Pastor as he preaches the gospel mightily.
4. Let’s pray that the Lord would bless this whole programme.
