Appreciating The Grace Of God That Gives Salvation

Our salvation in Christ is often taken for granted. We tend to perceive salvation as only a minor thing when in fact, it is a big doctrine. Paul sought to explain to Titus that the grace of God that brings salvation is something to be deeply appreciated.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men”
Titus 2:11

Though we were great sinners, yet the Lord Jesus gave Himself for us that He might redeem us. By His mercy and grace, He saved us and justified us. He has poured out the Holy Spirit into our lives. Furthermore, this grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It is not just meant for the “elect”. This salvation is meant for everyone in this world. Let’s truly appreciate this grace of God that brings salvation.

The Ramifications Of The Grace Of God That Brings Salvation

What are some of the ramifications of the grace of God that brings salvation?

1. Training Of Our Lives To Live Right

“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age”
Titus 2:12

The word “teaching” has the idea of “training”. The grace of God is meant to train us in a gentle way to do the right things. If we truly appreciate and treasure the grace of God that brings salvation, we will turn our backs on ungodly living and seek to live godly lives. The grace of God will coach us to walk in the right way.

2. Having A Great Sense Of Hope In Christ’s Return

“Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ”
Titus 2:13

The grace of God will also give us a great sense of hope. There will be this blessed hope in looking for the second coming of Christ. We can really look forward to His coming. There is that firm and certain expectation of the Lord’s return.

3. Being Part Of God’s People

“And purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”
Titus 2:14

We will seek to purify ourselves that we may be God’s own special people. We will seek to be part of His people and be committed to doing good works. Bethany is celebrating its 35th anniversary on 23rd August 2008. Let’s come together as God’s special people to celebrate His blessings upon us. Let’s be zealous for His work.
