GENEALOGY OF ABRAM

1. Father was called Terah

a) Originally from Ur of the Chaldeans (Genesis 11:27)

b) He took Abram and his grandson Lot to go to Canaan (Genesis 11:28)

c) They came to Haran and dwelt there (Genesis 11:31)

d) Terah died at Haran (Genesis 11:32)

2. Abram left Haran at 75 years (Genesis 12:4)

a) God called him to leave Haran and to go to Canaan (Genesis 12:1)

b) Many experiences and many deep lessons (75-86 Years)

i) Famine in Canaan (Genesis 12:10)

ii) Going to Egypt (Genesis 12:10)

iii) God’s protection in Egypt (Genesis 12:10-20)

iv) Gaining wealth (Genesis 13:2)

v) Problems with Lot

1. From Abram to Abraham (Genesis 17:5)

a) To signify a new chapter of life for Abraham

b) To confirm God’s relationship with Abraham

c) To confirm the blessings that God has promised
