MISCELLANEOUS LAWS
1. In times of war
a) He must keep from doing anything wicked (Deuteronomy 23:9)
b) Sins unspecified
2. Uncleanness
a) Occurrence in the night
b) He must leave the campsite
c) He may return only after he has cleansed himself (ritual cleansing) (Deuteronomy 23:10-11)
3. Answering the call of nature
a) A place outside the camp
b) To cover refuse (Deuteronomy 23:12-13)
4. The LORD’s presence
a) He walks in the midst of your camp (Deuteronomy 23:14)
b) To deliver Israel
c) To hand over the enemy to Israel (Deuteronomy 23:14)
THE CLEANLINESS OF THE CAMP
1. Cleanliness and holiness (Deuteronomy 23:14)
2. The camp must be holy
3. God must not behold any uncleanliness
4. Lest He turns away (Deuteronomy 23:14)
CONCERNING SLAVES
1. The escaped slave cannot be returned to his former master (Deuteronomy 23:15)
2. He may dwell in Israel
a) In the place he chooses (Deuteronomy 23:16a)
b) He is not to be oppressed (Deuteronomy 23:16b)
