3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

2. Preparation of a Place
a) Figure of speech
“I go and prepare a place for you”
i) The death of the Lord Jesus was in mind
ii) He must die in our place
iii) He will rise from the dead
iv) He must conquer Satan and Death
b) This was fulfilled
14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2:14-15
i) The Lord Jesus partook of flesh and blood
ii) Through His death, He destroyed Satan’s power of death
iii) The fear of death is overcome
iv) We need not be in bondage to the fear of death
TOGETHER WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOREVER
1. The Lord Jesus
a) He would come and receive us to Himself
b) We would be with Him forever in God’s house
2. This is a wonderfully comforting thought if we have faith in the Lord Jesus
