(I) THE CLEAR TESTIMONY OF ABSOLUTE FAITH IN THE MOST HIGH GOD
1. Great courage to stand up for God
“They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up.” Daniel 3:16
2. Great confidence in God to deliver
“If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us from your hand, O King.” Daniel 3:17
3. Total trust in God even if He does not deliver
“But if not…” Daniel 3:18
4. Total loyalty to God
“That we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Daniel 3:18
(II) THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IN THE MIDST OF A FIERY TEST
1. Being thrown into the furnace that was heated seven times more (Daniel 3:23)
2. The presence of a fourth person
a) The special presence of the Son of God
“And the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:25
b) God’s angel
“Who sent His Angel…” Daniel 3:28
3. There was total protection from the Lord (Daniel 3:25, 27)
(III) EXTOLLING GOD AS THE MOST HIGH GOD
1. Recognising the servants for the Most High God (Daniel 3:26)
2. Praising the Most High God (Daniel 3:28)
a) Who sent His angel
b) Who delivered His servants
3. Declaring that there is no other God like Him (Daniel 3:29)
(IV) IN AWE OF JESUS AS THE SON OF THE MOST HIGH
1. Called Son of the highest
“He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” Luke 1:32
2. The Son of God specially conceived
“And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35
3. Even demons fear the Son of the Most High God
“When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!” Luke 8:28
