3. Theme: “By Faith”

a) We have come a long way since we began Bethany in 1973

b) We began with Faith in God

c) We consciously lived “By Faith” all these many years

d) God has been gracious and He has blessed because we have lived “By faith”

THE EXPLANATION OF THE LORD

1. The Lord Jesus commended people with great faith

a) A Gentile centurion   (Matthew 8:5-13)

b) A Canaanite woman   (Matthew 15:21-28)

2. The Lord’s Rebuke for a lack of Faith

a) The Disciples   (Matthew 8:23-27)

b) A faithless generation   (Mark 9:14-29)

THE EXAMPLES RECORDED IN THE BIBLE

1. They were recorded for a Purpose

2. To teach us that it is Possible to Apply Faith

3. To teach us about the Blessings that come when Faith is applied

THE EMPHASIS OF APPLYING FAITH

1. The Emphasis on Faith is obvious

2. The phrase “By faith” appears numerous times   (Hebrews 11:3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11 etc)

3. Why was there this Emphasis?

a) Without Faith it is impossible to please God   (Hebrews 11:6)

b) Faith must be applied

c) Faith honours God

THE EXPERIENCE OF APPLICATION OF FAITH

1. Differences

a) There will be differences in application

b) This is to be expected

2. Diverse circumstances in life

a) Past

b) Present

3. Different Individuals

a) Different levels of faith

b) Different people

CONCLUSION

1. Let us seek to strengthen our Faith

2. Let us seek to apply our Faith

3. Let us encourage each other to apply Faith in our life
