1. A Prophetic Hope
a) A Glimpse of the Future
b) A Glorious Picture
c) This is “The Word of the LORD” (Isaiah 2:1)
i) To give hope
ii) To stir up faith
iii) To strengthen the spirit
iv) It will be fulfilled- one day!
2. Features of the reign of the LORD in the Millennial Kingdom
a) The mountain of the LORD’s House shall be established (Isaiah 2:2)
b) It shall be exalted (Isaiah 2:2)
c) All nations shall flow to it (Isaiah 2:2)
d) Many people shall come and say: (Isaiah 2:3)
i) Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD
ii) To the house of the God of Jacob
iii) He will teach us His ways
iv) We shall walk in His paths
v) Out of Zion will go forth the Law
vi) And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem
e) The LORD as the Ruler (Isaiah 2:4)
i) He shall judge between the nations
ii) And rebuke many people
iii) They shall beat their swords into ploughshares
iv) And their spears into pruning hooks
v) Nation shall not lift up sword against nation
vi) Neither shall they learn war anymore
3. The Significance of Prophecy
a) The prophet
i) A servant of the prophet
ii) A seer
iii) A spokesman
iv) A watchman
b) The prophecies
i) A revelation from God
ii) A rebuke
iii) A reasoning
iv) A word of correction
v) A plea
vi) An exhortation
vii) Glimpses of the Future
c) The people
i) Those who would listen, repent and return to God
ii) Those who chose to remain in their sinful ways, rejecting God’s word

4. An Appropriate Response
a) Exhortation
i) Important

b) O house of Jacob
c) Let us walk in the light of the LORD (Isaiah 2:5)
5. The Solemn Reality in Isaiah’s Time (Isaiah 2:6-22)
a) God had forsaken His people (Isaiah 2:6a)
b) Because they are filled with Eastern ways (Isaiah 2:6b)
c) They are soothsayers like the Philistines (Isaiah 2:6c)
d) They are pleased with the children of foreigners (Isaiah 2:6d)

c) The LORD alone shall be exalted in that day (Isaiah 2:12)
8. Too little, too late (Isaiah 2:10-22)
a) Enter into the rock, hide in the dust (Isaiah 2:10)
b) The lofty looks of man shall be humbled (Isaiah 2:11, 17)
c) The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down (Isaiah 2:11, 17)
d) All shall be brought low (Isaiah 2:12-17)
e) The idols He shall utterly abolish (Isaiah 2:18-21)
