Topic: Blessing of little Children
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

THE SUBJECT OF CHILDREN
1. This had already been taught by the Lord Jesus to His Disciples
2. Review Matthew 18:1-14
a) Conversion like little children Matthew 18:3
b) Call to be humble like little children Matthew 18:4
c) Receiving a child in the name of the Lord Matthew 18:5
d) Danger of stumbling little ones forewarned Matthew 18:6-9
e) Little ones can be lost Matthew 18:10
f) The Lord came to save the lost Matthew 18:11
g) Parable of a shepherd looking for a lost sheep Matthew 18:12-14
THE PROBLEM OF FORGETTING WHAT HAD BEEN TAUGHT
Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
Matthew 19:13
1. Little children were brought to the Lord Jesus for His blessing
2. The Disciples rebuked the parents/ guardians for bringing them to the Lord Jesus
a) This was regrettable
b) The Disciples had forgotten what the Lord Jesus had taught them
3. Why did they not remember?
a) The lessons were in their head but not in their heart
b) They had not yet internalised the lessons taught
c) The Disciples were caught up with other matters they deemed more important
d) They had failed to see the meaning of the blessing of the Lord Jesus
A STRONG REMINDER
14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
