Text: Jeremiah 10

“THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU”

(I) ADORATION OF THE LORD

1. There is none like You (Jeremiah 10:6, 7)

2. You are great (Jeremiah 10:6)

3. Your Name is great in might (Jeremiah 10:6)

4. He is the King

a) Of the nations (Jeremiah 10:6)

b) The everlasting King (Jeremiah 10:10)

5. The Lord is the true God (Jeremiah 10:10)

6. He is the living God (Jeremiah 10:10)

7. He is the Creator (Jeremiah 10:12-13)

(II) THE WAY OF MAN

1. In contrast to God

2. Features of man

a) Everyone is dull-hearted (Jeremiah 10:14)

b) Learning from Gentiles (Jeremiah 10:2)

c) They have not sought the Lord (Jeremiah 10:21)

d) The way of man is not in himself (Jeremiah 10:23)

e) It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps (Jeremiah 10:23)

(III) AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE

1. A humble prayer

a) Humility is the correct response

b) Humility is the only response

2. A prayer for correction

a) O LORD, correct me but with justice (Jeremiah 10:24)

b) Not in anger, lest You bring me to nothing (Jeremiah 10:24)

3. A Christmas Prayer

“O Come, O Come, Emmanuel…”
