To bring many sons to glory

(I) THE SUFFERINGS CHRIST MUST ENDURE
“But we see Jesus”
1. Jesus had to be made a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:9a)
a) He must take on flesh
b) He must become fully man
2. He had to endure death (Hebrews 2:9b)
a) Death must be endured
b) Death is the penalty of sin
3. He must taste death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9c)
a) He must taste death on our behalf
b) He took our penalty of death upon Himself
4. He must go through “sufferings” (Hebrews 2:10)
a) He had to endure whatever suffering life may bring
b) The final suffering was His death on Calvary
(II) THE SALVATION CHRIST OFFERS
“Bringing many sons to glory”
1. He offers “sonship” (Hebrews 2:10c)
a) Many sons
b) Not all for one must accept Christ as Saviour and Lord
2. He offers “leadership” (Hebrews 2:10d)
a) Captain
b) Bringing
3. He offers “glory” (Hebrews 2:10d)
a) Crowned with honour and glory
b) Into glory
4. He offers “brotherhood” (Hebrews 2:11)
a) He is not ashamed of us
b) He presents us to God as His brethren
(III) AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE
1.Receiving the Lord Jesus as our Saviour and Lord
2. Believing in Him
3. Accepting Him as our Saviour
