1. His knowledge about God

a) He is the LORD God of Israel   (1 Kings 8:15)

b) Blessing the Lord   (1 Kings 8:15)

c) God’s promise given to David   (1 Kings 8:15)

d) God fulfilled His promise   (1 Kings 8:15)

2. His knowledge about how God chose

a) God had chosen David to be king   (1 Kings 8:16)

b) David as the established king of Israel

i) In faith

ii) In gratitude

iii) In love

iv) He wanted to build a temple for the LORD   (1 Kings 8:17)

c) God declined this offer   (1 Kings 8:18-19)

3. Awareness of being chosen to build the Temple
