2. This was taught by Moses

a) When you begat children and grand-children   (Deuteronomy 4:25)
b) When your son asks you in time to come   (Deuteronomy 6:20)

3. An established practice

a) We will not hide them from their children   (Psalm 78:4a)
b) Telling to the generation to come   (Psalm 78:4b)
i) The praises of the LORD   (Psalm 78:4c)
ii) And His strength and His wonderful works   (Psalm 78:4d)
c) He established a testimony and appointed a law   (Psalm 78:5a)
i) That they should make them known to their children   (Psalm 78:5b)
ii) That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born   (Psalm 78:6a)
iii) That they might arise and declare them to their children   (Psalm 78:6b)

COMPELLING MOTIVATION

1. Hope

That they might set their hope in God   (Psalm 78:7a)

2. Not forget

And not forget the works of God   (Psalm 78:7b)

3. Keeping the commandment

And keep the commandments of God   (Psalm 78:7c)

4. Not like the old generation

And not be like their fathers   (Psalm 78:8a)

c) Heart not set right
d) Spirit not faithful to God
