(I) THANKSGIVING

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” 1 Timothy 1:12

1. Personal thanksgiving

a) Personal possession of joy felt

b) Personal expression of joy

2. Shared Thanksgiving

a) Our Lord

b) Our common faith

3. Focus of thanksgiving: Christ Jesus our Lord

a) Not just the blessings of life and ministry

b) But the Person who brought about these blessings

The Lord Jesus Christ!

(II) SPECIAL REASONS FOR THANKSGIVING

1. Enabled for ministry

a) Empowering

b) Enduing

2. Counted faithful for ministry

a) Considered faithful by the Lord

b) Counted faithful by the Lord

c) Committed

(III) AN AMAZING OBSERVATION

1. When did the Lord count Paul suitable for ministry?

a) Even when Paul had not yet been saved

b) Even when Paul was persecuting believers

2. How was this possible?

a) Exceedingly abundant grace (1 Timothy 1:14)

b) Accompanied by faith and love (1 Timothy 1:14)

3. All because of Christ Jesus the Lord

a) In Him is salvation

b) In Him is successful service

c) In Him- we have all that we could possibly need and want!
