(I) AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT “TOGETHER”
1. It is a concrete concept rather than an abstract one
2. It is wonderfully expressed in compound words
a) “Continue with you all” (Greek – sumparameno) (Philippians 1:25)
b) “Striving together” (Greek – sunathlountes) (Philippians 1:27)
c) “Being of one accord” (Greek – sumpsuchoi) (Philippians 2:2)
d) “Fellow-worker” (Greek – sunergon) (Philippians 2:25; 4:3)
e) “Fellow-soldier” (Greek – sustratioten) (Philippians 2:25)
f) “Conformed” (Greek – summorphon) (Philippians 3:21)
(II) AN APPRECIATION OF THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE CONCEPT “TOGETHER”
1. A special sense of Joy that pervades (Philippians 1:4; 2:16, 17)
2. A wonderful sense of Affection (Philippians 1:8-9)
3. A great sense of commitment to pray for each other (Philippians 1:3-4, 9-11)
