4. Because we have experienced reconciliation with God

5. Because of our concern and compassion for souls

(II) A SPECIAL MINISTRY

1. God Himself has given this ministry

2. It is called “The ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18)

(III) HOW THIS MINISTRY WORKS

1. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19a)

a) The life of Jesus

b) The death Jesus

c) The resurrection of Jesus

d) Through faith in Jesus our sins are atoned for

e) We are forgiven of all our transgressions

f) We are reconciled with God

2. This ministry is now given to us (2 Corinthians 5:19b)

a) We proclaim Christ

b) We proclaim the message of the Gospel

c) We invite people to salvation in Christ

(IV) AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

1. God speaks through His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20)

a) He pleads

b) He implores

c) He seeks people to be reconciled with Him

2. Our appreciation of this ministry

a) We have God’s authority

b) We also have His power

c) We have His Presence

d) We have His promises
