I SHALL YET PRAISE HIM

Message Notes
(I) WHEN IT IS SOMETIMES HARD TO OFFER PRAISE
1. When Tears are our food day and night (Psalm 42:3)
2. When Taunts come harsh and hard questioning our faith in God (Psalm 42:3a)
3. When the Soul is cast down and feels disquieted (Psalm 42:6a)
4. When enemies oppress and reproach mercilessly (Psalm 42:9-10)
(II) FINDING A WAY OUT OF DEPRESSIVE FEELINGS
1. When I remember these things (Psalm 42:4)
a) Happy Memories are powerful weapons
b) Recall happy times
i) Of worship
ii) Of going to the House of the Lord
iii) Of celebrating religious feasts
2. Therefore I will remember (Psalm 42:6)
a) Choosing to remember God ( Psalm 42:6b )
b) Pouring out our soul to God ( Psalm 42:6a )
c) Believing in God’s lovingkindness ( Psalm 42:8a )
d) Recalling a favourite song in the night ( Psalm 42:8c )
e) Singing a song as a prayer to God ( Psalm 42:8d )
(III) EXERCISING THE POWER OF HOPE IN GOD
1. Addressing our soul firmly
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me” Psalm 42:11a
2. Hope in God (Psalm 42:11b)
a) Knowledge of God
b) Faith in God
c) Hope in God
3. Look forward to Praising God yet
“For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” Psalm 42:11
a) Sad moments will give way to happiness soon
b) God will grant us His help
c) He is our Helper and our God
