PRAYER MEETING
Text: Exodus 40

INSTRUCTION FROM THE LORD TO SET UP THE TABERNACLE

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying…    Exodus 40:1

1. Setting up the Tabernacle

The first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.    Exodus 40:2

2. The Ark of the Testimony

You shall put in it the Ark of the Testimony…    Exodus 40:3

3. The Veil

And partition off the ark with the veil    Exodus 40:3

4. The Table for the Showbread

You shall bring in the table and arrange the things that are to be put on it    Exodus 40:4

5. The Lampstand

You shall bring in the lampstand and light its lamps.    Exodus 40:4

6. The Incense Altar

You shall also set the altar of gold for the incense before the Ark of the Testimony,
And put up the screen for the door of the tabernacle    Exodus 40:5

7. The Altar of the burnt offerings

The Altar of the burnt offerings before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.    Exodus 40:6

8. The Laver

And you shall set the laver between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.    Exodus 40:7

9. Setting up the court

You shall set up the court all around, and hang up the screen at the court gate.    Exodus 40:8

THE ANOINTING OF THE TABERNACLE AND ITS HOLY OBJECTS

1. The anointing oil

2. This oil was to be used to anoint the Tabernacle    Exodus 40:9

All the holy objects in the Tabernacle are to be anointed    Exodus 40:9-11

3. After anointing the artefacts are considered “hallowed”    Exodus 40:11

a) Most Holy
The altar

b) Holy
The utensils

THE ANOINTING OF AARON AND HIS SONS

1. To be washed with water    Exodus 40:12

2. Holy garments to be put on Aaron    Exodus 40:13

3. Aaron’s sons    Exodus 40:14-15

4. They are to be anointed as priests    Exodus 40:15

OBEDIENCE OF MOSES

Thus Moses did; according to all that the LORD had commanded him.    Exodus 40:16

1. The Tabernacle was set up    Exodus 40:17-33

2. So Moses finished the work    Exodus 40:33

THE GLORY OF THE LORD

1. The cloud covered the Tabernacle    Exodus 40:34

2. The glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle    Exodus 40:34

MOSES

Not even Moses was able to enter into the Tabernacle    Exodus 40:35

THE CLOUD AND FIRE

These represented the glory of the Lord. These were over the Tabernacle day and night.    Exodus 40:38
