Exodus 25:10-22

THE BUILDING OF THE ARK

1. Acacia wood        Exodus 25:10

a) Length: 2 ½ cubits (1 cubit about 18 in; about 4 ft)

b) Width: 1 ½ cubits (about 2 ¼ ft)

c) Height: 1 ½ cubits (about 2 ¼ ft)

2. Gold to overlay the Ark        Exodus 25:11

a) Pure gold to be used

b) Overlaying to be done inside and outside

c) Moulding of gold

3. Rings around the Ark        Exodus 25:12

a) 4 rings of gold

b) In the four corners

4. Poles of acacia wood        Exodus 25:13-15

a) Poles to be overlaid with gold

b) Poles to be put through the rings for carrying purposes

c) Poles to be permanently in the rings

5. The Testimony        Exodus 25:16

a) A reference to the Ten Commandments

b) The tablets of stone are called The Testimony

6. The mercy seat        Exodus 25:17-21

a) A mercy seat to be made of pure gold

b) Length: 2 ½ cubits

c) Width: 1 ½ cubits

d) 2 Cherubim of gold at both ends of the Mercy Seat

e) The wings of the cherubim will cover the Mercy Seat

f) The faces of the cherubim will be towards the Mercy Seat

7. Where God will meet with Moses        Exodus 25:22

a) There I will meet with you

b) I will speak with you above the Mercy Seat

c) About everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel
