7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:7-8

THE 2ND COMING OF THE LORD JESUS

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 1:7

1. He is coming with clouds

a) “Clouds”
b) A significant symbol
i) A Pillar of cloud in the day Exodus 14:19, Ezekiel 10:3
ii) Clouds of heaven
iii) Power and great glory

2. A prophecy of Daniel

13 “I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one

Daniel 7:13-14

a) The Son of Man
b) Coming with the clouds of heaven
c) The kingdom given to the Lord as the Son of Man

3. The teaching of the Lord Jesus

30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24:30-31

a) A reference to the Return of the Son of Man
b) Mighty angels attend Him
c) He will come in power and glory
d) The angels would gather together the elect

3. And every eye shall see Him, even they who pierced Him.
And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

7 “The Lord will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah.
8 In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them.
9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Zechariah 12:7-10

a) A prophecy that is tied to Jerusalem

ii) For having rejected the Lord
d) But the Spirit of grace and supplication would be given
