B. DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH MONEY    

1. A love for money                                     1 Timothy 6:6-10

a) Desire to be rich

b) Falling into temptation

c) Ensnared

d) Foolish and harmful lusts

e) Destruction

f) Perdition

g) Love of money is a root of all kinds of evil

h) Greed can cause people to stray from the faith

i) Many piercing sorrows

2. Total Dependence on Self (Exclusion of God)   James 4:13-17; Psalm 30; Proverbs 11:28

a) Plans that do not take God into consideration

b) Plans that are essentially self-centered

c) Plans that may ultimately fail

d) Major missing factor- The Blessing of the Lord

3. Naïve Trust                                                        Proverbs 6:1-5; 11:15; 17:18

a) “False friends”

b) Naivete

c) Trapped (In trouble because of being a guarantor)

d) Severe loss possible

4. Two Masters         Matthew 6: 19, 24

a) Tussle between God and mammon (wealth)

b) Both seek to be masters
