GOALS:

1. A deeper understanding of a group of Psalms written by Asaph

2. A deeper knowledge of the place of:

a) The Psalmists

b) The Psalms

c) In particular, the Psalmist Asaph

i) As a writer of Psalms

ii) As one involved in a support ministry as a Levite

iii) As a prophetic voice for the Lord

iv) His struggles as a servant of the Lord

3. A deeper appreciation of: –

a) The ministry of the Levites in the days of Moses

b) The ministry of the Levites in the days of King David

4. A practical understanding of the following: –

a) The relevance of the Psalms of Asaph in today’s context

b) The rich insights that could help us enhance our understanding of worship

c) The corrections that we need to make to see improvement: –
