Text: Psalm 78
Subject: Passing down a glorious faith in God from one generation to another
- A Personal Declaration from Asaph Psalm 78:1-4
- To teach Psalm 78:1-3
- To pass down Psalm 78:1-3
- To teach the next generation the praises of God Psalm 78:4
- A commandment from the Lord to teach the next generation(s) Psalm 78:5-8
- That they may know the Word of God Psalm 78:5-6
- That they may set their hope in God Psalm 78:7
- That that they may not forget the works of God Psalm 78:7
- That they keep His commandments Psalm 78:7
- That they may not be like their fathers Psalm 78:8
- Remembering the sins of Israel
- They did not keep the covenant of God Psalm 78:10
- They refused to walk in His law Psalm 78:10
- They forgot His works /wonders Psalm 78:11
- They sinned even more against Him Psalm 78:17
- By rebelling against the Most High Psalm 78:17
- They tested God in their heart Psalm 78:18
- Yes, they spoke against God Psalm 78:19
- They did not believe in God Psalm 78:22
- And did not believe in His salvation Psalm 78:22
- Did not believe in His wondrous works Psalm 78:32
- They flattered Him with their mouth Psalm 78:36
- They lied to Him with their tongue Psalm 78:36
- Their heart was not steadfast with Him Psalm 78:37
- Nor were faithful in His covenant Psalm 78:37
- How often they provoked Him in the wilderness Psalm 78:40
- And grieved Him in the desert Psalm 78:40
- Yes, again and again they tested God Psalm 78:41
- And limited the Holy One of Israel Psalm 78:41
- They did not remember His power Psalm 78:42
- Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God Psalm 78:56
- And did not keep His testimonies Psalm 78:56
- But turned back and acted unfaithfully Psalm 78:57
- They were like deceitful bows Psalm 78:57
- They provoked Him to anger with their high places Psalm 78:58
- And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images Psalm 78:58
- Appreciating the Lord
- The plagues in Egypt Psalm 78:12
- The crossing of the Red Sea Psalm 78:13
- His Presence by day and night Psalm 78:14
- His provision Psalm 78:15-16
- The anger of the Lord Psalm 78:21
- Provision of manna Psalm 78:24-25
- Provision of quails Psalm 78:26-31
- He consumed them in futility Psalm 78:33
- Full of compassion Psalm 78:38
- Forgave their iniquity Psalm 78:38
- Many times He turned His anger away Psalm 78:38

- Forsook the tabernacles of Shiloh Psalm 78:60
- Delivered His strength to captivity Psalm 78:61
- He gave His people over to the sword Psalm 78:62
- Furious with His inheritance Psalm 78:63
- Their priests fell by the sword Psalm 78:64
- Rejected the tent of Joseph Psalm 78:67
- Chose the tribe of Judah Psalm 78:68
- Built His sanctuary in the heights Psalm 78:69
- Chose David His servant Psalm 78:70-72
