1. A Challenge to Cultivate the Mind of Christ

a) A way of thinking

b) A Mindset to be practiced

2. The Way Christ thought

a) He knew that He was Equal to God

b) He was Himself Divine/Deity          Philippians 2:5

c) But He became flesh          Philippians 2:7-8 (Cf. John 1:14)

d) Appropriate action taken

i) Made Himself of no reputation

ii) He became a bondservant          Philippians 2:7

iii) He humbled Himself          Philippians 2:8

iv) He became obedient          Philippians 2:8

v) He was prepared to obey to the point of death          Philippians 2:8

3. God’s Response to Christ

a) He has highly exalted Christ          Philippians 2:9a

b) He has given the highest name to Jesus          Philippians 2:9b

i) At His name every knee shall bow

ii) In adoration (believers)

iii) Or by coercion (enemies)

c) All will confess that Jesus is indeed Lord          Philippians 2:11a

d) This redounds to the glory of God          Philippians 2:11b
