THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD

1. It is living             Hebrews 4:12

a) It has a life of its own

b) It can generate life

2. It is powerful             Hebrews 4:12

a) It has great power

b) This power must be experienced to be fully understood

3. It is very sharp             Hebrews 4:12

i) It discerns

ii) It distinguishes

4. It is directly related to the Lord Himself             Hebrews 4:13

a) We cannot hide from God

b) We have to give an account to Him

APPROPRIATE RESPONSE TO THE WORD OF GOD

1. More earnest heed must be given             Hebrews 2:1

2. It must not be neglected             Hebrews 2:3

3. We must battle unbelief             Hebrews 3:12

4. We must receive the word with faith             Hebrews 4:2

5. We must practise diligence             Hebrews 4:11
