UPON THE THRONE OF DAVID
To be a good king is no easy feat at all;
To do well, one must ever heed God’s Call.
In Israel, there were many generations of kings;
David was the one who was most outstanding.
To David was given a special and royal covenant;
A prophetic-Messianic tone was an added element.
The Son of David would surpass every king;
He would receive a name above everything!
He would establish a kingdom without end;
This would be accomplished in God’s plan.
The task that He would perform is truly awesome;
His life would be entirely pure and wholesome.
The royal throne of David is one of majesty;
The Son of David would also serve humbly.
His name would be remembered and treasured;
His power and majesty cannot be measured!
