BY THIS I KNOW
Sometimes the wicked make us feel afraid;
Fear assails and dark doubts come instead.
There is some uncertainty in our heart;
We are not sure if Mercy, God would impart.
The heart seeks to know the Lord’s Will;
Would He continue to give Mercy still?
Seeking God in prayer must be done;
Faith in Him would affect the outcome.
“By this I know,” was an expression of assurance;
The Lord would help us build strong confidence.
He would not let the wicked be triumphant;
This fact alone indicates God’s presence.
He would deliver us and cause us to seek His face;
He would continue to bestow mercy and grace.
Our heart must regain full trust in God’s name;
Our lips may echo the words, “Amen and Amen!”
