COME AND SEE THE WORKS OF GOD
The works of God were carefully written in the Scriptures.
All of them display such splendid and mighty features.
The challenge is to read them with understanding;
We can then “see the works of God” with rejoicing.
The mighty works of God were known to the Philistines;
They were powerful and wicked, committing many sins.
They even dared to take the ark of God into their land;
They had not reckoned with the power of God’s hand.
The Lord sent a plague to bring the Philistines to their knees.
Their priests and diviners urged their lords to cease and desist.
The mighty works of God in Egypt could not be forgotten;
Israel worshipped the mighty Lord and God of heaven.
Let us take time to read the historical books in the Bible;
These accounts may be read safely, for they are reliable.
Let us learn how we may practise trusting God more deeply;
May our faith in the Lord be renewed as we read joyfully!
