IN YOU, O LORD, I HOPE
Friends can be special and wonderful;
But they can fade away and that is painful.
Family and relatives may be God-sent;
But in hard times, they can also resent!
The sin-racked person is like a deaf man;
He cannot hear and respond to God’s hand.
He is also like the mute who cannot speak;
The Lord’s mercy and grace he does not seek.
It is only when all hopes have been dashed fully;
And there comes realization that one needs mercy.
The heart then cries out to God in desperate Hope;
For without the LORD we cannot really cope.
The LORD will hear the cry of the humble;
He understands the dread of the fearful.
He will reach out and extend His hand;
Things will work for good according to His plan.
