OVERCOMING DEPRESSIVE FEELINGS
Our minds are confused, our feelings in disarray;
How can we fight despair that comes our way?
Words of comfort mean nothing at all;
We cannot hear God’s loving call.
Enemies seize the opportunity to attack;
Deadly weapons- they have no lack!
Tears come unbidden, we are near to collapsing;
Where is the Lord and His promised blessings?
We cannot but feel with those in such sorrow;
They feel like there is really no tomorrow.
The very faith we have is challenged greatly;
Would the LORD deliver? Really?
Jesus was not spared of vicious attacks;
But His trust in the LORD did not slack.
He had full faith in His Father’s Hand;
Nothing was outside of God’s Plan.
