SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG
The LORD deserves to be worshipped joyfully;
The heart must offer worship most sincerely.
The challenge is to be able to sing a new song;
But first, needed-inspiration must come along.
The heart must not be allowed to become jaded;
The soul does not need to feel deeply dejected.
Inspiration can be found to compose new songs;
To the Lord, grace and mercy, truly belong.
Fresh inspiration can be found in God’s salvation;
Each deliverance calls for joyous celebration.
The Lord will graciously hear our prayers;
He will come alongside, because He cares.
The attributes of God are wonderful to behold;
He is a God whose heart will never be cold;
His mercy, His faithfulness are great themes;
Dwelling on them helps us sing great new hymns.
