THOUGH HE WAS A SON
(A Communion Poem)
We reason that if Jesus were the Son of God He would have an easy life,
He would be surrounded by God’s angels and there would be no strife.
He would be living happily each day because of His relationship with God;
But the truth of the matter is to be found only in the Word of the Lord!
Though Jesus was indeed the Son of God yet He had to learn obedience;
Never did He have an easy life, but He showed tremendous resilience!
He was born and bred in very humble circumstances, that He might learn,
How to fully trust the Word of God and His Glorious Father in Heaven.
He had to learn about the lot of Man, through personal pain and suffering;
He would then learn what it means to trust God for every single thing.
He would set the Example for all His Disciples to see and to consider;
Man was meant to live only by the Glorious Word of God forever!
Having fulfilled all that God had expected He became the Author of salvation;
All who come to Him in faith and walk in His ways would find true consolation;
There may be afflictions of life which bring pain and sorrow to the soul;
But there is glorious assurance that the soul would be made whole!
